In the Global Bioinformatics team at Evotec more than 100 scientists with diverse backgrounds in biology, computer science, mathematics, and biomedicine work on the analysis and interpretation of omics data. Together with our colleagues in the wetlabs we develop and continuously improve our high throughput and high precision omics platforms. In drug discovery projects we work together with scientist from multiple other disciplines in a global organization of more than 5.000 employees across 15 sites. Our tasks include omics data handling and qc, method and software development, and the biological interpretation of analysis results. Our goal is to enable better decisions for medicines that matter.

To support our Bioinformatics group in Toulouse we are looking for a highly motivated

Research Scientist (all genders) - Bioinformatics

Full-time and permanent

• Support oncology researchers in interdisciplinary project teams with Bioinformatics and Data Analysis expertise.
• Design and implement methods and algorithms for transcriptomics data analysis in our in-house data analysis platform PanHunter.
• Contribute to drug discovery project analyzing various “omics” data type, public or generated in-house.

• PhD inBioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Computer Science, Computational Biology or a related discipline or alternatively MSc with 3+ years experience as bioinformatician.
• Proficiency in working with bioinformatics methods and tools in the field of transcriptomics.
• Strong programming skills in least one programming language as well as experience in programming R are required.
• Experience in working with Linux systemsis expected.
• Experience with R/Shiny and data visualization is a plus.
• Experience working with oncology databases and datasets is a plus.
• Capability to organize your work efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work independently in interdisciplinary teams and a fast-paced work environment.
