An international organization in Paris is seeking a Young Associate to monitor trade and agriculture policy developments, prepare research materials, and support various activities. The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in economics or related fields, demonstrate excellent writing skills, and be fluent in one of the OECD languages. The position is full-time with a fixed-term appointment of two years, offering a competitive salary and allowances.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in one of the OECD languages (English or French).
  • Course work in trade economics or related fields is desirable.

  • Prepare briefings, talking points, and speeches.
  • Research and update TAD master policy briefs.
  • Support the organization of Ministerial meetings.

Role

Under the guidance of the Senior Counsellors and reporting to the Deputy Director the Young Associate will monitor relevant policy developments in trade and agriculture work with analysts to prepare a variety of policy‑focused research and briefing material and provide horizontal support for the activities of the Directorate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare briefings talking points and speeches for the Directors Office.
  • Prepare background material for TAD inputs for requests from other units of the Organisation.
  • Research revise and support the update of TAD master policy briefs.
  • Attend and follow‑up TAD Committees and other relevant meetings.
  • Conduct background research edit fact‑check and proof‑read a variety of material.
  • Support the organisation of a wide range of Ministerial / expert meetings workshops and seminars.
  • Contribute to the preparation of regular updates on trade developments for senior management.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
  • Undergraduate degree in economics, political science, agricultural economics, public policy, international trade and finance, law or other relevant discipline (graduation date between 1 January 2025 and 1 September 2026). Applications from candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Masters, PhD or equivalent degree will not be considered.
  • Course work in the following areas is desirable: trade economics, agricultural economics, political science, international relations, international law.
Tools
  • Experience in working with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to develop messages for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to carry out research, draft methodological and analytical papers as well as briefing notes, brochures and meeting summaries.
  • Ability to work on different projects with varying timelines.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team environment.

Languages
  • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and a knowledge of or willingness to learn the other.
