A leading energy research organization in France seeks a motivated intern for a six-month project focusing on the interaction between energetic particle driven instabilities and microturbulence in tokamak plasmas. The role requires a solid background in physics, preferably with knowledge of plasma physics. Candidates should possess strong analytical and computational skills for advanced gyrokinetic modeling. Communication will be primarily in English, and applicants must be enrolled in a relevant Master’s program. This internship offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to research in fusion energy.

Qualifications

  • Solid background in physics required.
  • Prior knowledge of plasma physics and magnetic confinement fusion is ideal.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with an international team.

Responsabilités

  • Explore the interaction between energetic particle driven instabilities and microturbulence.
  • Contribute to extending Gyrokinetic Toroidal Code to handle multiple energetic particle species.
  • Conduct nonlinear simulations for selected JET discharges.
