What you will do

Volvo Group Digital & IT has the ambition to enable value creation at scale for the Volvo Group. With a product-centric operation model and digital technologies, we produce digital offerings that are profitable, scalable, and differentiated.

In Digital Technologies (IoT & Edge Computing), you will contribute to the transformation and digitalization of the Volvo Group.

You will:

• Be a member of a global agile team working on Edge Computing and Vision Systems. The team is responsible for delivering Edge based solutions to the Volvo Group. The primary targeted scope is the industrial scope of Volvo
• Lead implementation and be in close collaboration with manufacturing engineers requesting Edge Computing & Vision solutions for any manufacturing site in the Volvo Group
• Develop & Support Edge Computing & Vision solutions and help to develop the future Edge Computing platform for Volvo
• Be the bridge between Cloud technology and Edge Computing
• Explore new technologies (Proof of Concept / Proof of Value) to test and understand if a proposed technology has some potential to bring value to the Volvo Group.

Digital Technologies has 130+ talents worldwide. We develop foundation products based on cutting edge technologies supporting and creating business apps efficiently. We are an incubator to industrialize new digital technologies throughout Volvo Group.

The IoT & Edge Computing area in Digital Technologies is composed of 3 global teams (approximately 7 members per team) with the objective to facilitate adoption and industrialization of IoT & Edge Computing technologies in Volvo Group.

In this role, mandatory skills and experiences are:

• Strong experience in software development within the industrial domain to be able to support applications using Python and .Net
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure) including security best practices
• Knowledgeable in automation, CI/CD, and modern infrastructure tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in front‑end & back‑end development (React JS would be a plus)

Recommended experience:

• Development and/or support of Computer Vision solutions in industrial context, based on Machine Learning and Python language
• Development and/or support of Edge Computing and/or Robotics solutions in the Manufacturing area (development of industrial apps, integration of applications with industrial shop floor equipment or robots)
• Knowledge of Azure IoT Operations
• Basic knowledge in Automatics & Robotics

• A team player with strong collaborative skills, to work across teams and interact with various stakeholders

• Motivated to support the digitalization of the Volvo manufacturing sites
