A prominent construction and management firm in France is looking for a Commercial Manager to oversee financial performance and project operations on a luxury resort development project in the Maldives. The ideal candidate will have a degree and extensive commercial management experience. Responsibilities include leading teams, managing subcontractor agreements, and ensuring compliance with project standards. This is an opportunity to be part of a landmark five-star luxury resort development in the Maldives, with Mace delivering Programme, Project, and Construction Management.
Play a key role in the performance of all operations from a commercial and financial perspective.
Monitoring financial performance, financial analysis (including trend analysis) and preparing project performance reports and recommendations for the executive team.
Supervising the implementation of and adherence to the commercial management plan, subcontract management plant and project risk management plan.
Monitoring, reviewing, and keeping relevant parties informed on the timeliness, cost, revenue, risk, progress, and performance of the project.
Liaising with the construction team to ensure commercial processes and operations are as effective, efficient, and transparent as possible.
Play a key role in the procurement and commercial structure/framework for the project.
Monitoring the subcontractor and supply agreement process.
Monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures in relation to legal, financial and administration matters - the standard of internal control and policies.
Setting direction and providing clear and timely feedback to direct reports on their performance.
Manage & provide leadership to a team of Managers and Professionals, ensuring the principles, structures, tools / capabilities, and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and deliver excellence.
Address subcontractor contractual claims and change.
Produce monthly client application.
Approve invoices and issue IPC.
Draft necessary technical and contractual correspondence.
Commercially manage design consultants and specialist fees.
Ensure site team acts within commercial and legal procedures and agreements.
Communicate with clients and subcontractors.
Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Degree qualification.
Extensive experience in commercial management.
Leisure / Island experience preferred.
Is familiar with the main rules of measurement.
Has a background high value / complex project.
Experienced in FIDIC Yellow book.
Has a strong working knowledge of design & build.
Has a strong background in contract administration.
