Description du poste

Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.

Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

Within the Quantum Hardware department, the Cryohardware Development team is responsible for designing and building all hardware components that operate inside the cryostat—the essential environment for our quantum computer. This includes everything from cables and filters to sample holders, thermal shields, surrounding mechanical structures and cryogenic systems. The team operates in a project-based mode to:

Develop new technology modules, either in-house or in collaboration with external partners

Install and commission new machines as we scale up our technology.

Are you driven by advanced technologies and excited to contribute to the future of quantum computing? As a Senior CAD Technician at Alice & Bob, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of the cryohardware powering our quantum systems.

Responsibilities

As part of the Cryo-Hardware team, working closely with engineers and physicists, you will be responsible for:

  • 3D modeling in SolidWorks of mechanical components integrated into cryostats (machined parts, metalwork, precision assemblies, mechanical interfaces for DC/RF electronic components, etc.)
  • Creating detailed manufacturing drawings (drawings, tolerances, materials, heat or surface treatments)
  • Managing project documentation (drawing revisions, parts lists, assembly procedures)
  • Actively participating in the assembly and testing of prototypes, in collaboration with the team.
Requirements
  • Education: 2-3 years of higher education (BTS CPI, DUT GMP, professional degree in mechatronics or equivalent)
  • Experience: at least 5 to 8 years in a similar technical environment (instrumentation, microtechnology, cryogenics, RF, precision mechanics, etc.)
  • Excellent command of SolidWorks (3D & drafting), functional dimensioning and ISO tolerancing
  • Keen interest in precision work in the workshop: adjustment, assembly, testing
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and enjoys working in a team

Nice to have: Knowledge of cryogenic environments and RF electronics. Experience in manufacturing, machining, etc. Awareness of vacuum/ultra-vacuum constraints and material compatibility with low-temperature thermal constraints.

Benefits
  • 25-day vacation policy (as per French law) + RTT
  • Half of transportation cost coverage (as per French law), or yearly allowance for the die-hard bicycle users
  • Competitive health benefits with Helium/Axa
  • Meal vouchers with Swile, as well as access to a fully equipped kitchen
  • Parental benefits with crèche support
  • Flexible remote policy, up to 40 % a month
  • Language courses covered by the company
  • Mental health support with moka.care
  • Subsidized membership with Urban Sports Club
Recruitment Process
  • Screening Call with Talent Acquisition Specialist (30 min)
  • Hiring Manager Interview with one of the Experimentalist Team Leader (45 min)
  • Technical Interview/Presentation with the Team (60 min)
  • Leadership and Fit Interview (45 min)
