Job Description

The Software Buyer will evolve within a TECH Automotive domain, involving start-ups, GAFAM, and key software players. The role encompasses software components from basic layers (operating system, Hypervisor) to complex connected features (Navigation, voice recognition, virtual personal assistant), as well as on-premise software purchasing, cloud services, OTA platforms, and more. The goal is to support and promote skills for our next Software Defined Vehicle platform.

Activities

Under the supervision of the purchasing manager and commodity leader, the Software Buyer will:

1. Define the commodity strategy (COMMS) for their area by analyzing industry and demand trends, supporting the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
2. Manage relationships within the supplier panel.
3. Handle contract negotiations with suppliers during bidding processes.
4. Source new suppliers within their scope.
5. Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and address concerns.
6. Act as the interface between purchasing, project, and engineering teams during development, from supplier nomination to start of production.
7. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
8. Research and identify prospective suppliers.
9. Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.

The responsibilities include sourcing suppliers that meet QCDP (Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Performance) targets, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. Success in this role requires developing efficient procurement solutions and supporting the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
