Project Manager / Project Leader – Discovery & Preclinical Programs

We are an innovative biotech company specializing in the development of next-generation therapeutics (single-domain antibodies, conjugates, siRNA, etc.). Our agile and passionate R&D team works on cutting-edge projects in immunology, oncology, and rare diseases.

Job Summary: We are seeking a Project Manager / Project Leader to oversee and drive the execution of internal discovery and preclinical programs. This role is pivotal in coordinating cross-functional efforts, ensuring alignment with scientific and strategic goals, and enabling project teams to deliver on key milestones. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 - 15 years of experience in biotech, strong project management capabilities, and deep expertise in immunology, particularly in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The role reports directly to the VP, Discovery & Preclinical.

Work location: Paris (15ème)

Full-time permanent contract

Key responsibilities
  • Lead internal R&D project teams through early discovery to preclinical candidate nomination
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and risk registers
  • Coordinate input and deliverables from cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., antibody engineering, biology, pharmacology, CMC)
  • Facilitate team meetings, track action items, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Identify scientific or operational risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Provide regular project updates and decision-making support to the VP and executive team
  • Ensure clear documentation, data tracking, and reporting across internal programs
  • Encourage a transversal mindset driven by collective curiosity and learning
Qualifications & Experience required
  • Advanced degree (PhD) in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences
  • 10+ years of experience in biotech as project manager or program leadership roles
  • Strong scientific background in immunology, with a particular focus on inflammatory and autoimmune diseases
  • Solid understanding of biologics R&D, ideally with exposure to antibody-based therapeutics and oligonucleotide
  • Proven ability to manage cross-disciplinary projects in a matrixed and dynamic environment
  • Strong flexible organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus but not required
