Project Manager / Project Leader – Discovery & Preclinical Programs

Job Summary: We are seeking a Project Manager / Project Leader to oversee and drive the execution of internal discovery and preclinical programs. This role is pivotal in coordinating cross-functional efforts, ensuring alignment with scientific and strategic goals, and enabling project teams to deliver on key milestones. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 - 15 years of experience in biotech, strong project management capabilities, and deep expertise in immunology, particularly in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The role reports directly to the VP, Discovery & Preclinical.

Key responsibilities
- Lead internal R&D project teams through early discovery to preclinical candidate nomination
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and risk registers
- Coordinate input and deliverables from cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., antibody engineering, biology, pharmacology, CMC)
- Facilitate team meetings, track action items, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation
- Identify scientific or operational risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Provide regular project updates and decision-making support to the VP and executive team
- Ensure clear documentation, data tracking, and reporting across internal programs
- Encourage a transversal mindset driven by collective curiosity and learning
Qualifications & Experience required
- Advanced degree (PhD) in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences
- 10+ years of experience in biotech as project manager or program leadership roles
- Strong scientific background in immunology, with a particular focus on inflammatory and autoimmune diseases
- Solid understanding of biologics R&D, ideally with exposure to antibody-based therapeutics and oligonucleotide
- Proven ability to manage cross-disciplinary projects in a matrixed and dynamic environment
- Strong flexible organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint)
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus but not required
