Overview
Job Description Summary: The Process Technician role is responsible to observe and monitor production process to ensure product meets customer needs and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and adjust forming, pressing, and drying processes to meet production targets for quality, throughput, and scrap.
- Conduct routine checks on process parameters (e.g., moisture, vacuum, temperature, pressure) and document findings.
- Assist in identifying root causes of process disruptions and provide real-time solutions to avoid downtime.
- Support the Process Engineer in implementing process improvements and validating results.
- Participate in start-up, shutdown, and changeover procedures for our machines.
- Record accurate data related to process performance, quality, and downtime.
- Assist maintenance and production teams during troubleshooting and equipment adjustments.
- Train operators on proper techniques and process control standards when needed.
- Participate in kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and other continuous improvement efforts.
Experience required
- 3+ year experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with molded fiber or paper-based processes is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of chemical dosing and ability to operate HMIs.
- Ability to interpret process control data and make appropriate adjustments.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical requirements
This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include, but are not limited to:
- Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
- Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
- Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
- Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)
Working conditions
- Must be physically able to perform the essential job duties.
- Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour schedule.
- Works overtime as required.
Education
High school diploma or GED required, technical training or certification in manufacturing.
