A leading international energy services provider is seeking an Offshore - Control System Specialist in France. The candidate will oversee operations related to ICSS and PLC systems while ensuring the safety and efficiency of equipment on offshore platforms. With 10+ years of experience in control systems, the role requires the ability to lead teams and perform maintenance tasks under challenging conditions. Fluency in English is necessary, and proficiency in French is advantageous. This is a full-time position with a focus on operational excellence.

Context and mission
  • Rotation Status.
  • Position Offshore on the platform
  • He is responsible for assuring from Validation by COMPANY ICSS Engineer the accurate control, authorization verification, integrity and follow-up of all software and hardware for use in the ICSS and systems onboard the FPSO
  • He guarantees a good level of availability of the equipment on production SITE.
  • He plays a predominant role in the transfer of skills to personnel undergoing training and development by mentoring on SITE.
Main activities
  • Respect and apply QHSSE rules and procedures
  • In his discipline, he/she is in charge to :
    • Organize and perform on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility.
    • Assist the Preparation / planning team by giving any technical support for preparation of the jobs in his discipline.
    • Manage interventions and prepare the technical reports related to the field.
    • Is responsible of the specific tools of his team. (quantity and availability)
    • Take in charge the systems / equipment under his/her responsibility in case of breakdown until correct operation status.
    • Identify recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyze them and suggest improvements.
Specific activities
  • Ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within his teams, and actively participates in the OJT / assessment program.
  • Identify any recurring problems related to the availability or quality of spare parts.
  • Keep a critical eye on current preventive maintenance programs and, if need be, suggest improvements.
  • Can be part of Emergency Response Team.
  • Organize the site rotational assignment.
Quality Assurance
  • Verifies the quality of his teams’ interventions by frequent on-site checks and final checks prior to hand-back of critical or high integrity equipment to production after maintenance activity.
Profile
Profil

The holder of this post must have the following qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC (A-levels + 3 years’ study) or BTS/DUT or equivalent,
  • 10 years’ experience in the field of Control and Safety systems and a minimum of 3 years as a Specialist in Control and Safety systems in the Petrochemical industry,
  • Knowledge of the process of oil and gas treatment, installations and Equipment.

Specific professional knowledge:

Most current design of ICSS/PLC Systems (INVENSYS TRICONEX & EMERSON DELTA V)

CMIMS : UNISUP or SAP similar

Ability to lead and motivate multi-national teams,

Physical ability to work on offshore installations in the climatic conditions of the site,

Languages
  • English necessary (score of >> 3.5 in standard Total test or Bright test or 780 in TOEIC)
  • French is an advantage.

He must have proven ability as a leader of small teams. Perfectly competent and independent in his own field, He must show common sense and an organizational ability.
