A prestigious academic institution in France is seeking early-career postdoctoral scientists for a position in computational biology. The successful candidates will conduct independent research focused on multi-omics data integration related to various diseases. This role offers a two-year fellowship with a gross monthly salary starting at EUR 3,000, plus a starting research package. The candidates will be supported by an excellent scientific environment and have opportunities to apply for additional funding.
We are looking for highly motivated early-career postdoctoral scientists willing to conduct independent research in computational biology at Nantes University in France. Nantes University has recently launched ambitious research programs aimed at consolidating research in two key thematic areas: health and engineering. One of these programs, SysMics (Towards Systems medicine based on multi-oMics), is a transdisciplinary initiative at the intersection of biomedicine and digital sciences. The programme aims to develop translational research based on the integration of multi-omics data.
In this context, we are seeking to attract talented young researchers willing to develop and apply new computational models/methods based on multi-omics data integration in relation to cardiovascular, immune-related, cancerous or developmental diseases. Under the supervision of SysMics scientific leaders, we expect junior postdoctoral fellows to develop their own research projects while acquiring additional academic skills through dedicated advice and support. The selected candidates will therefore benefit from an excellent scientific environment – including funding and interdisciplinary mentoring – to help them develop an independent research career at an international level. We are committed to promoting gender equality and diversity, and to providing an enjoyable working environment within a multicultural, dynamic academic setting.
Applications should be submitted to contact-sysmics@univ-nantes.fr (Object: ‘Junior Postdoc Application’) as soon as possible, and before the 20th February 2026. Please send the following documents in English as a single PDF file:
Selected candidates will then be invited to contact a potential host team at Nantes University in order to prepare their full research proposal. The final decision will be made by the end of May, with an expected start date between September and December 2026.
All candidates will receive feedback on their application once the final decision has been announced.
Any inquiry regarding this fellowship should be addressed to contact-sysmics@univ-nantes.fr.
