Electrical Design Engineer – Renewable Energy - Mulhouse

Our client, a major player in the energy transition, is expanding its capabilities within large-scale renewable energy and storage projects. As part of this growth, the Energy Transition & Grid division is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer specialising in Renewable Energy to strengthen its Power & Storage team. The company delivers high-value photovoltaic and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across France and internationally.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Tendering Manager within the Offers Unit, you will be responsible for the full electrical design scope and costing for PV plants and BESS projects. Working closely with the bid lead, you will support both domestic and international tenders by producing technical studies, evaluating supplier proposals, and defining optimised electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse and evaluate public and private tenders in France and abroad from a technical and compliance standpoint.
  • Design and integrate complete electrical solutions, including calculation notes, drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, PVSyst simulations, and PVcase layouts.
  • Optimise proposed solutions from a technical and financial perspective.
  • Prepare technical specifications for supplier and subcontractor consultations.
  • Conduct techno-economic reviews of supplier bids and coordinate all clarifications.
  • Develop preliminary project schedules.
  • Prepare cost estimates using Quick Devis.
  • Draft technical documentation to support bid submissions.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong experience in project design within the renewable energy sector, with a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, standards, and NF regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end engineering studies and contribute effectively to complex tender processes.
  • Knowledge of energy storage systems is a strong advantage, particularly for BESS or hybrid PV + BESS projects.
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable collaborating in multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Proficient in key industry tools : PVSyst, AutoCAD, Caneco HT and BT.
  • Familiarity with PVcase, Quick Devis and MS Project is beneficial.
  • Fluent English is essential.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
  • Occasional travel required (a few days per year).
