Overview

Role and responsibilities

Overview of role: You will act as the bridging point between partners who sell insurance products (without being the insurer itself) and Wakam, focusing on data flows and governance to ensure Wakam can act fully and safely as an insurer.

• On the BUILD side: discuss with the bike store or any company that sells insurance products to implement data flows between the broker and Wakam; manage your own portfolio of partnerships; interact closely with Wakam Business teams to understand product and data needs; provide data advice and requirements to the partner; engineer data flows in our Git repo with Python and SQL, report progress via Data Office and Business Committees; contribute to internal transverse technical and business projects and to continuous process improvement.
• On the RUN side: monitor and ensure monthly data integration with 150+ partners is executed; be a key contact for internal clients (Technical Reserving and Profitability, Reinsurance, Accounting, Compliance) and partners for data topics; handle requests for incidents, evolution requests, and assistance in compliance with SLA and insurance standards; analyze and follow up on problems escalated to various departments until resolution; communicate action plans and progress in writing and verbally; commit necessary changes to the Git repo and code in Python.

Qualifications and skills

• Master's degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in data management, data consulting, data analytics, or analytics engineering; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; strong communication in English and French.
• Expertise in SQL for analytics; knowledge of Azure, Snowflake, DBT, Databricks, PowerBI, and familiarity with at least two of these technologies; proficiency in Python is a plus.
• Insurance knowledge is a plus.
