About the job: Data Center and Infrastructure Administrator

The job involves providing technical support capacity to data center facilities and infrastructure globally. The candidate will help manage and maintain data center environments and assist with infrastructure configuration, and troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment and systems. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to executing data center projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Data Center support and Infrastructure Administrator
- Managing and maintaining data center facilities, systems, hardware, and hosted infrastructure
- Supporting the resolution of issues related to data center environments and infrastructure
- Implementing changes to the data center environment and infrastructure
- Participating in various implementation activities related to data center solutions and technologies
- Developing initiatives to improve data center operations following best practices and standards
- Performing technician-level tasks as part of the administrator role
- Providing guidance to junior administrators
Data Center support :
- Supporting onsite data center and facilities, including cabling and maintaining ancillaries inside racks (patching)
- Performing physical installation and de-installation of equipment, managing cabling (fiber and copper), racks, PDUs, and performing standard maintenance tasks as per documented procedures
- Maintaining environmental conditions such as heating and cooling systems to ensure optimal operation
Infrastructure support :
- Participating in installation and configuration of infrastructure equipment, servers, and network components using standard configurations and templates
- Resolving infrastructure-related incidents and requests
- Documenting and reporting infrastructure operations, maintaining accurate system configurations, asset management, and inventory
Additional responsibilities :
- Maintaining housekeeping and stock management of materials and supplies
- Keeping documentation and inventory of equipment, tools, and assets up to date
- Liaising with technical teams and vendors regarding support activities, equipment deliveries, and inspections
Other :
- Supporting during weekends, holidays, or outside working hours as needed, and serving as standby personnel on a rotation basis
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant IT experience supporting enterprise data center environments in complex, heterogeneous settings
- Knowledge of data center standards (ANSI, TIA, BICSI) and environmental controls
- Understanding of data center infrastructure components (HVAC, racks, connectivity, power, cabling)
- Knowledge of data center hardware, network devices, and backup hardware
- Experience with cable testing procedures and equipment, including fiber optic systems
- Familiarity with network configuration (Cisco switches, protocols like TCP/IP), virtualization, and automation tools
- Understanding of ISO20000 standards and service management best practices
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documentation
- Experience with data center and network management tools
Education and Certifications :
- Technical degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Certifications such as Data Center, Dell, HP, Cisco, ITIL, ISO are highly desirable
