Description du poste

We are recruiting a highly motivated and experienced researcher to develop and structure a research and educational program dedicated to kidney cancer. The position is supported by a 3-5 year fixed-term contract (CDD) with a transition to a permanent professor position at the end of the fixed-term contract.

Potential course subjects include cancer biology, cell signaling, molecular imaging, etc. as a part of the Cancérologies Biology International master and graduate programsand bachelor’s degree in life sciences at the Université de Bordeaux. To ensure successful implementation of the research program, the appointed Chair will benefit from a reduced course load of 64 hours during the fixed-term contract.

Basic/translational research proposals should focus on the physiopathology, biology and/or treatment of renal cancer and will be developed within the I.CaRe (Integrated Research & Innovation program on Kidney Cancer) team led by Jean-Christoph Bernhard. Demonstrated experience in kidney research is preferred but not essential to apply. The I.CaRe team is the founding member and coordinator of the French Kidney Cancer Research Network UroCCR, a multidisciplinary collaborative network that is labelled by the French National Cancer Institute. The research program to be developed will benefit from close collaboration with clinical partners at the CHU de Bordeaux as well as the Bordeaux Institute of Oncology (BRIC) research unit. This position comes with a generous start-up package that includes lab space and funding for the development of the project and recruitment of personnel provided by a prestigious Chaire d’Excellence from the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. This position is supported by the CHU de Bordeaux, the Université de Bordeaux, INSERM and the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
