Cork
Cheshire Ireland’s Cork Supported Accommodation Services was introduced in 2006. Our primary focus is to support people to live independently in their own homes regardless of their disability in line with HSE policy moving away from more institutionalised modules of care adopted previously. We currently have 8 service users spread over a wide geographical area; one service is a 168km round trip from Cork city where our offices are based in St. Laurence Cheshire Residential Service.
The CSAS is for people who want to retain their independence but want support when they need it in properties that meet their individual needs. We work with Irish housing associations and local councils to provide properties that are built or adapted to meet the needs of the person so people can live independently with appropriate support. The CSAS has learned through experience that getting the right care and support is as important as the right home.
We are supporting individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. We’re at the heart of local life – opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in local communities. We are playing our part in building a fairer, more inclusive society. One that recognises the positive contributions we all make, and where we are all proud to play our part.
Because everyone’s different, we make sure there’s a range of support that covers every aspect of life. It makes it easy for each individual to choose what works for them and their lifestyle. By offering different levels of support based on the person’s practical, educational, career and emotional needs we make it easy for people to live independently whilst remaining at the heart of their community with the support to pursue their lifestyle choices.
