AIT Technician – Mechanical, Thermal, Electrical Integration (F/H)

Who we are ?

Born of a strong ambition to conquer the stars, Exotrail is a “scale-up” that came into being in 2017. Its aim is to develop and market small satellite engines worldwide.

We develop products focusing on impact, frequent delivery, and continuous improvement. Inspired by the digital world, we are customer-focused and entrepreneurial.

We manage risks to cross boundaries and deliver results that otherwise wouldn’t be possible in a traditional space model.

We rely on all the required means to sustain the development of our products, be it for propulsion or servicing satellites. With a strong innovative spirit inherited from our early phases, we gear up to grow our industrial company.

Your role

Exotrail is looking for a highly skilled AIT Technician with specialized experience in Mechanical, Thermal, and Electrical Integration to support the SpaceVan™ program. This role focuses on performing precise assembly, integration, and testing of satellite subsystems and components within a cleanroom environment, preparing essential materials and equipment for environmental testing (EVT) and upcoming launch campaigns.

The current team comprises several AIT engineers and technicians across missions (LEO, GEO, Rendez-vous), and this role will support test phases for diverse mission types.

Main Missions
  • Mechanical, Thermal, and Electrical Integration: Conduct assembly and integration of spacecraft components across mechanical, thermal, and electrical domains, ensuring strict adherence to technical protocols, cleanliness standards, and quality control measures.
  • Test Preparation & Execution: Set up and organize materials, equipment, and tools required for various in-house functional and environmental tests, including vibration and thermal tests, ensuring readiness and compliance with test standards.
  • Cleanroom Operations: Adhere to contamination control protocols in the cleanroom, maintaining a sterile workspace to protect sensitive components from contaminants.
  • Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance: Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used during integration, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Component Verification: Inspect and verify all components before integration, performing dimensional and functional checks to ensure each part meets design specifications.
  • Environmental Testing & Launch Campaign Support: Participate in environmental testing campaigns, including thermal vacuum, vibration, and shock tests, and contribute to launch preparation activities to ensure system resilience under mission conditions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document each integration step, deviation, and outcome, contributing to integration and test reports. Maintain up-to-date digital records of integration statuses.
  • Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR): Identify and report anomalies encountered during AIT, working with Quality to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, maintaining a safe workspace and following Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols to protect electronics.
