About the Integrations Team

The Integrations team is setting out to build tools and experiences that allow Rover to expand its technology platform to new brands and customers in a seamless fashion. We plan to achieve this through automation, tooling, and repeatable processes. This new team will work to build a repeatable data ingest infrastructure and a multi-brand user experience, as we aim to serve even more pet parents by leveraging new brand identities and markets.

Your role as Staff Engineer

You will work closely with stakeholders and product managers to deliver on our company’s commitment to fostering a safe experience for all users and pets. Your team will be responsible for building out features to improve the overall experience of a pet owner and help them find the right person for their needs.

Through mentorship and problem-solving, you’ll help your team deliver their projects on time at a high level of quality. In partnership with the Engineering and Product Managers, you’ll inform and influence the development, prioritization, and execution of your team’s roadmap. Together with other tech leaders, you’ll help guide the team’s architecture and implementation strategy. You’ll also be responsible for supporting the career growth and personal development of the engineers on your team.

• 10+ years of experience as a professional software developer
• Experience building web and/or mobile applications
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Experience with technologies similar to Rover’s tech stack: React, React Native, Python, and Django
• Solid knowledge and understanding of relational databases and schema design
• Experience leading highly complex projects that span multiple teams and led to significant business impact
• Experience assessing technical complexity and estimating the scope of large initiatives
• Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to inform product strategy
• Track record of successful mentorship
• Passionate about automated testing, code quality, and general software engineering best practices

• You are a great team player.
• You are meticulous about design and user experience because you want to deliver the best service to your customers.
• You are used to working with different agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/XP).
• You love new challenges and are eager to solve new problems by applying analytical thinking.
• You are business-fluent in written and spoken English (our engineering team is in Barcelona, but we work in English).
• You love pets!
