JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled Observability Engineer with experience working with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, with deep knowledge of Observability features (logging, metrics, tracing, APM, …) ideally in hybrid high-volume distributed platforms with thousands of transactions per second. The candidate should have proven experience working with de-facto market-standard open-source components including Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch / ElasticSearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaegger, or similar. Our Observability Platform components are deployed on Kubernetes and / or AWS EC2 instances, requiring support and rollout for all teams / internal customers. The role involves governance, best practices, and automation of ad-hoc features. The successful candidate will be part of a talented team of IT professionals focusing on implementing solutions for our product requirements and technology challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement solutions to meet product requirements and technology challenges.
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability through design.
  • Follow the Definition of Done at the technical level.
  • Analyze technical trade-offs and determine primary components.
  • Identify weaknesses and failure points in Observability solutions and propose improvements.
  • Support teams during technological challenges.
  • Lead the definition of technical and functional monitoring standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the company's Communities of Practice.
  • Advocate for new Observability features and technologies.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role, supporting monitoring, logging, tracing, and APM challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with Observability tools such as Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch / ElasticSearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaegger.
  • Experience working in cloud environments like AWS.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform and Helm.
  • Experience with container-native applications in Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Linux system administration skills.
  • Experience in Distributed Systems environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or SAFe.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Python or Go is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
