What are we looking for?
We seek a talented and motivated Senior Android Mobile Engineer to join our team as a freelancer. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Android development using Kotlin and a passion for creating high-quality mobile applications. We value eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to our team's success.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Apply SOLID principles and clean code practices to new features and refactor legacy code to meet current standards.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Kotlin.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices.
- Write unit, integration, and UI tests to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing Android applications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Develop and maintain existing and new libraries and SDKs.
- Optimize application performance for a seamless user experience.
- Stay updated with the latest Android development trends and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 8 years of professional experience in Android mobile development.
- Strong expertise in Kotlin and modern Android architecture components (e.g., Jetpack, ViewModel, LiveData, Room).
- Proficiency in writing clean, readable, and well-documented code.
- Familiarity with SOLID principles and Android frameworks such as Navigation Component, Dependency Injection, Flow, and Contracts.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern declarative UI frameworks.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks like Mock or JUnit.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts effectively.

- Interest in psychology and mental health.
- Fluency in English and native Spanish.
- Bachelor's degree or vocational training.
- Familiarity with modular architecture.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab CI/CD, Bitrise).
- Contributions to open-source or personal tech projects.

What do we offer?
- Freelance contract for 6 months, with a possibility to extend to 9 months.
- Full-time commitment: 40 hours/week.
- Fully remote: work from anywhere.
- Competitive salary: €4,500–€5,000/month, approximately €28/hour, depending on experience.
