One of our partner companies is currently seeking a Distinguished Engineer in Machine Learning (VP level) in Europe.
Role Overview
As a Distinguished Engineer in Machine Learning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's AI and machine learning strategy. Your focus will be on long-term, innovative goals, leading transformative AI technologies, and setting new standards for engineering excellence. You will collaborate across teams, drive AI / ML initiatives, and influence strategic decisions, pushing industry boundaries and anticipating future technological advancements.
Accountabilities
- Lead the development and execution of multi-year, company-wide AI and ML initiatives, ensuring scalable solutions that meet current and future business needs.
- Engage with senior leadership, external partners, and industry groups to influence the company's strategic and technical direction.
- Research and develop next-generation AI and ML models, driving innovation and performance breakthroughs.
- Mentor and coach senior engineers, fostering a high-performance culture and contributing to recruitment efforts.
- Represent the company at conferences and forums, publishing research findings and participating in industry discussions.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to define roadmaps and align technical capabilities with business goals.
- Manage large-scale, high-impact projects, ensuring exceptional execution amidst evolving requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement through industry best practices and cutting-edge research.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in AI / ML research and development post-PhD, with proven success in leading large-scale projects and driving innovation beyond academia.
- Expertise in AI / ML frameworks, deep learning algorithms, and hardware-optimized machine learning.
- Experience in neuromorphic computing, hardware-efficient AI, or computational neuroscience is a plus.
- Proven leadership in managing senior engineers, influencing technical direction, and driving engineering excellence.
- Strong communication skills to influence and engage executives, engineers, and external stakeholders.
- Contributions to academic research, open-source projects, or industry consortiums are highly desirable.
