What will I be doing?
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements such as intercompany, service, cost-sharing, loan, guarantee, and novation agreements to support seamless operations across subsidiaries.
- Supporting M&A transactions, restructurings, and capital markets activities, including due diligence and coordination with advisors and stakeholders.
- Handling banking, financing, and treasury legal matters, including credit facilities, derivatives (ISDAs), and KYC/legal onboarding.
- Managing corporate governance, including entity formations, record maintenance, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Collaborating with global legal teams and senior leaders on strategic projects, regulatory issues, and product development.
- Developing templates, policies, and procedures for new legal requirements.
- Preparing and tracking legal documentation for corporate actions and regulatory filings.
What skills do I need?
- A qualified lawyer with a law degree.
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a major law firm or in-house within financial services or M&A.
- Strong background in commercial, contractual, and corporate law.
- Knowledge of payments, financial services, or fintech is highly desirable.
- Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Business-oriented mindset with collaborative skills.
- Tech-savvy with experience in digital legal tools.
- Proactive in identifying legal and business issues.
- Ability to apply law creatively to solve business challenges.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and excellent communication skills.
- Calm under pressure, creative, and a team player.
- Self-motivated, intelligent, and able to work independently.
- Flexible to work across time zones in South America, Europe, the US, Africa, and Asia.
