This project aims to enhance reading skills among disadvantaged Spanish children by strengthening vocabulary through an innovative, evidence-based approach using the "Story Champs" methodology, which combines explicit vocabulary instruction with narrative activities to improve language comprehension and expressive skills. The goal is to support early literacy, reduce educational disparities, and develop scalable, adaptable interventions with real-world impact.
The project addresses a significant gap in vocabulary research for disadvantaged Spanish-speaking children, focusing on vocabulary acquisition and narrative competence to improve reading comprehension and academic success.
