A leading aerospace company in Getafe, Spain, is offering a curricular internship program aimed at students in their final year of studies in relevant disciplines. Interns will develop a final project related to sensor fusion technologies for Military UAVs, working part-time over a six-month period with mentoring support. Candidates are expected to have a solid foundational knowledge along with good English and Spanish language skills.

Formación

Overview

Job Description: Ready to join one of our Airbus Programs in Spain? AIRBUS offers an internship (curricular practicum) program aimed at students who are in the last year of their degree with the main objective of acquiring professional skills through the development of a project in the company.

You will prepare a final year training project that will allow you to complete your official studies.

About practical training
  • 6 months of curricular practicum at AIRBUS from February to July 2026
  • Part time: 5h / day - 25 hours per week (8h-13h)
  • Tutor assignment for continuous monitoring
Final project (TFG)

The appearance and quick development of new technologies is transforming Military Aviation exploring the possibility to endow Military UAVs with new improved capabilities and performances, such as the challenge of detecting and identifying, both terrestrial and flying objects, improving current target detection and identification performance provided for current ones. These new capabilities should exploit the data from new emerging sensors such as LiDAR and Detect and Avoid Radar, computer vision, artificial intelligence and sensor fusion techniques and algorithms. All these techniques should be suitable to run onboard the platform in an embedded environment.

The proposed work aims to study the state of the art of sensor fusion technologies and techniques, the feasibility of its integration in Military UAVs, enabling them for autonomous operations.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Studying Degree in Aerospace, Industrial, Computer Science or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • English: min. level B2 (C1 desirable)
  • Spanish: min. level B1
  • General knowledge in aeronautical surveillance and navigation system.
  • Matlab/Simulink
  • Isaac Sim and ROS (would be an extra plus)
  • Open minded, agile, pragmatic & active to new challenges
