Overview

At Qaracter, we’re looking for a Tech Lead Java Developer to join a leading financial institution’s strategic projects in Madrid. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of critical initiatives, mentor developers, and ensure delivery excellence while working in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, ensuring coding best practices and high-quality deliveries.
• Design, build, and optimize backend solutions with Java 8 and Spring Boot (springboot-starter-web).
• Build and consume REST APIs (HTTP verbs, status codes, versioning, documentation with Swagger / OpenAPI).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions.
• Ensure Git best practices and code review processes.
• Drive technical discussions, propose improvements, and align with business requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on experience in Java (Java 8 mandatory) – streams, lambdas, collections.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot (springboot-starter-web).
• Solid experience with REST APIs (design, consumption, versioning, Swagger / OpenAPI).
• Good knowledge of Git for version control.
• Strong communication skills and leadership mindset.
• Nice to have: Experience with Spring Boot Security, JWT.
• Background in financial services or banking environments.
