About the Role

The company is seeking a hands-on Lead .NET Engineer to architect, build, and scale innovative backend systems. This role is ideal for a passionate technologist who thrives in a high-growth environment and wants to drive technical excellence, team mentorship, and product innovation.

What the Lead .NET Engineer Will Do

• Lead the design and development of robust, scalable backend systems using .NET 6 or higher.
• Drive technical architecture decisions and modernization of legacy platforms.
• Champion innovation and AI integration, leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot and other GenAI tools to boost developer productivity and accelerate delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver high-impact features.
• Act as a technical mentor to engineers, promoting engineering best practices and code quality.
• Own the full development lifecycle – from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Enforce and evolve secure coding practices, especially for payment and financial systems.
• Lead incident response and post-mortems, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Ensure SOC 2 and PCI compliance, including secure backend processes and governance.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and performance excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of backend development experience with .NET 6 or higher.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and technical projects.
• Deep expertise in Azure Service Fabric, MS SQL Server, and Cosmos DB.
• Strong understanding of payment systems and architecture, including Stripe integration and decoupled payment flows.
• Proficiency in building microservices, REST APIs, and scalable architectures.
• Strong background in API security, performance tuning, and compliance (SOC 2, PCI).
• Hands-on experience in CI/CD automation and secure deployment practices.
• Working knowledge of Angular or modern frontend frameworks for backend integration.
• Experience leveraging AI tools for code generation, testing, and productivity optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native architectures.
• Exposure to AI/ML or data-driven product features is a plus.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps culture.
