Position Summary: Thiscourseintroducesstudentsto basic computer and digital media concepts in hardware, software, and networking. Widely used applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation, and web development software are studied and students are introduced to their academic portfolio platform as they learn how to manage digital media files across multiple platforms in order to create and maintain a professional portfolio.

Qualifications – Required Degree: Undergraduate Degree or Diploma

Qualifications - Other:

· Diploma or degree in Design, Graphic Design, or Commercial Design is preferred

· Two or more years experience teaching at the college or university level

· Two or more years experience teaching computer applications in a Mac Lab

· Experience teaching Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint (all for the Mac)

· Experience teaching Adobe Creative Suite

· Experience teaching with MyLearning Space or other online learning applications

· Experience creating online design portfolios

· Experience in Macintosh troubleshooting and maintenance is an asset

Salary: $9206.40(Stipend)

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement , for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent. The PCAF is a separate form due within 5 days of the email notification of posted courses and is submitted via Qualtrics. Refer to this notification for the link to the PCAF. Members who do not submit a PCAF may apply for posted course through a separate application for each course. Refer to the collective agreement for additional information on the PCAF.
