RVH Section 23 Summer School Teacher

• Special Education qualifications required
• BMS Certification required
• Strong computer skills and experience in supporting students with mental health is an asset

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic programming for students transitioning from Grade 8 to Grade 9 with high anxiety and depression. Candidate will work with RVH CYMH Day Program mental health team to support students. The successful candidate will also work closely with Board personnel to ensure students are enrolled and transitioned with required paperwork. The candidate must attend training at RVH for CPI Training and RVH Orientation prior to the program start. This program is pending operation.

Salary Range (effective September 1, 2021): $41.66 - $66.68/hour

Responsibilities include:

• Effective instruction, training, and evaluation of students
• Classroom management and reporting to the principal
• Supervisory duties as assigned
• Collaboration with colleagues and community engagement
• Preparation of teaching plans and safety procedures
• Maintaining disciplinary practices and completing report cards
• Administering tests and participating in meetings
• Supporting student graduation and co-operative placements
