Contract Dates: November 24, 2025 to June 26, 2026

Status & Workload: One (1) Replacement Position at 100%

Grade 7 & 8: History and Citizenship & Geography taught in French;

Grade 9: Culture and Citizenship in Quebec, English, & History of Quebec and Canada.

Description

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Bilingual High School English and Social Sciences Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will engage students through student-centered instruction that develops critical thinking, communication skills, and openness to literature, writing, history, and diverse perspectives, while helping them connect language, culture, and society. The successful candidate will contribute to a rich learning environment that supports both academic success and personal growth.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging learning experiences and assessments aligned with the Ministry of Education programs and the School’s educational plan.
  • Apply innovative teaching strategies that enhance student engagement, support differentiated learning, and strengthen both literacy and social science skills.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment, encouraging active participation, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the co-curricular program and engage in ongoing professional development as part of the School’s faculty growth plan.
  • Uphold and promote the School’s mission, values, and educational policies and regulations.
  • Participate in faculty and department meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as outlined in the pedagogical calendar.
  • Act as an advisor to a small group of Grade 9 students to support their learning and growth.
Skills, Experience and Attributes Required
  • Bachelor’s of Education - Secondary English or Secondary Social Sciences (or equivalent).
  • Brevet or qualifying Master’s degree in progress.
  • Experience teaching Social Sciences in both English and French and / or English Language Arts at the secondary level.

Nous recherchons un.e enseignant.e bilingue d’anglais et de sciences sociales au secondaire, passionné.e et dynamique, pour se joindre à nous. Le ou la candidat.e idéal.e saura engager les élèves par un enseignement centré sur eux, développant la pensée critique, la communication et l’ouverture à la littérature, l’écriture, l’histoire et diverses perspectives, tout en reliant langue, culture et société. La personne retenue contribuera à un environnement d’apprentissage riche qui soutient la réussite scolaire et l’épanouissement des élèves.

Responsabilités
  • Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des expériences d’apprentissage et des évaluations attrayantes selon les programmes du ministère de l’Éducation et au plan éducatif de l’École
  • Mettre en œuvre des stratégies innovantes pour l’engagement, l’apprentissage différencié et les compétences en littératie et sciences sociales
  • Favoriser un environnement d’apprentissage positif, inclusif et centré sur l’élève, en encourageant la participation active, la collaboration et le respect de la diversité des perspectives
  • Contribuer de manière significative au programme périscolaire et s’engager dans un développement professionnel continu dans le cadre du plan de croissance du corps professoral de l’École
  • Soutenir et promouvoir la mission, les valeurs ainsi que les politiques et règlements éducatifs de l’École
  • Participer aux réunions du corps professoral et du département, aux rencontres parents-enseignant.e.s ainsi qu’aux activités scolaires prévues au calendrier pédagogique
  • Agir à titre de conseiller.ère auprès d’un petit groupe d’élèves de 3e secondaire pour soutenir leur apprentissage et leur développement
Compétences, expérience et formation requises
  • Baccalauréat en éducation – anglais au secondaire ou sciences sociales au secondaire (ou équivalent)
  • Brevet d’enseignement ou maîtrise qualifiante en cours
  • Expérience en enseignement des sciences sociales en anglais et en français et / ou de l’anglais au secondaire
  • Excellentes compétences orales et écrites en anglais et en français
  • Expérience en éducation à la réconciliation et connaissance des cultures autochtones
  • Forte capacité à concevoir et à offrir des activités d’apprentissage créatives, stimulantes et expérientielles
  • Engagement envers le développement professionnel et la pratique collaborative
