Hospitalist Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Halifax
Job summary
A healthcare provider in Nova Scotia is seeking a Hospitalist to manage day-to-day medical care for patients in rehabilitation. The role requires effective communication skills and accountability for patient admission and discharges. Applicants must be licensed physicians and meet various professional certification requirements. This full-time position does not offer remote work.
Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- Eligibility for RCPSC certification for specialists.
- In good standing with the College of Family Physicians of Canada for family physicians.
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day medical management of rehabilitative care patients.
- Responsible for admission, daily medical requirements, and discharges.
- Engage in effective communication with patients and families.
Skills
The Hospitalist working with the Physiatrist and rehabilitation team will provide day-to-day medical management of patients receiving rehabilitative care on the inpatient units.
The Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is an integral part of the Department of Medicine and provides inpatient outpatient outreach and telehealth services for the Nova Scotia Health as well as the Maritime Provinces.
The Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Center is a 66-bed facility with special programs for ABI SCI MSK Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and has excellent interdisciplinary teams that serve as the referral center for the province of Nova Scotia and is in beautiful Halifax Nova Scotia.
The Rehabilitation Centre Site offers a unique team approach to inpatient care where the opinions and knowledge of others is valued; information is exchanged openly and respectfully; problem solving is strong and creative; and communication with patients and their families is effective and thoughtful. The hospitalist is considered the most responsible physician and is accountable for admission daily medical as required and discharges. Our hospitalists strive to model excellence in all areas of responsibilities and have superb communication skills and work well in team settings.
Qualifications :
- All applicantsmust be eligible for licensure with theCollege of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia(CPSNS)
- All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada(RCPSC)
- All family physicians must be in good standing with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Allapplicants must have membership with theCanadian Medical Protective Association(CMPA)
