Job summary
A local dental practice in Burnaby is seeking a Dental Technician to prepare plaster models and cast alloys for dental purposes. The ideal candidate should have a secondary school graduation certificate and 1-2 years of experience, with responsibilities including making and polishing dentures and orthodontic bands. This is a permanent position with 30 to 40 hours of work per week.
Qualifications
- Secondary school graduation certificate required.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English.
Responsibilities
- Prepare plaster models and moulds.
- Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases.
- Mould wax over dentures set-up.
- Finish metal framework of dentures.
- Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays.
- Pack plastic material in moulds.
- Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys.
- Polish and buff dentures.
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Prepare plaster models and moulds
