Position Summary

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Fort St. John Hospital.

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), within a patient and family-centered care model.

The Registered Nurse practices in various clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care. Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client-centered care by assisting individual clients and their families in responding to changing healthcare needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Shift Rotation/Hours of Work: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)

Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Highlights include:

• Endoscopy suite, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms, and a procedure room
• Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
• Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
• 3 Intensive care units
• Minor surgeries
• 7 single Maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum

Fort St. John also hosts the Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic serving the community.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN
