The Corporate Communications Officer is responsible for delivering strategic communications that inform, engage, and inspire.
From drafting impactful press releases and digital content to managing media relations and supporting internal initiatives, your work will contribute to a stronger, more connected organization.

What You’ll Do In this role, you will be responsible for: Develop and execute strategic internal and external communications plans aligned with corporate priorities Write, edit, and produce compelling content, including media releases, speeches, newsletters, social media posts, website updates, and promotional materials Manage the County’s website and corporate social media platforms, ensuring accessibility, brand alignment, and consistent voice across channels Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, prepare responses to inquiries, and coordinate interviews, press events, and other outreach activities Support internal communications, including employee recognition programs, engagement campaigns, and corporate updates Assist with the development and delivery of sensitive or confidential communications related to labour relations or organizational change Ensure all communication materials meet AODA requirements and lead accessible document remediation efforts where needed Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to ensure communication efforts align with organizational goals and service delivery Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by measuring communication effectiveness and recommending enhancements What You Bring Education and Commitment to Growth: A post-secondary diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field Experience and Expertise: At least three (3) years of experience in communications, media relations, or public affairs Skills and Abilities: Proven skills in photography, video production, and video editing for professional communication Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and digital analytics tools Exceptional writing and editing abilities with a strong eye for detail, tone, and accessibility Experience developing communications that comply with AODA and best practices in inclusive communication A strong understanding of media relations and crisis communication Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments Other Requirements: A valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes Ability to provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract and Police Information Check What We Are Offering A salary range of $76,326 to $93,708 is just the beginning.
