A Canadian educational institution is seeking a Budget Officer to support finance and accounting functions within its Academic Operations and Planning department. This role requires a Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting and three years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will manage financial tracking, assist in reporting, and ensure all data integrity. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and is a full-time contract for four months, starting December 15, 2025.

The Budget Officer, reporting to the Manager, Strategic Initiatives, supports the finance and accounting functions in the Academic Operations and Planning department. The primary function will be to support Applied Research, Experiential Learning and Entrepreneurship and the other areas reporting to the Manager, Strategic Initiatives.
The incumbent supports the decision making process for the department by proving the daily financial management and tracking, including but not limited to tracking project expenditures, opening all cost centres, input of journal entries into Workday, functioning as a expense officer, supporting the accounts receivable/payable, purchasing activities of the department, monitors the Aged Receivable report, tracks, provides support for Capital Asset tracking, and acts as support for the Senior Financial Analyst.
Assists the Financial Reporting and Operational Budgets by preparing the monthly/quarterly and year‑end financial statements, downloading all month‑end reports to the shared point directory, reconciliation of the monthly Applied Research Deferral entry, and provides assistance with the CBC and yearly budget.
Reporting and Administrative tasks include assistance in the development of process/spreadsheets, extracting information from college and protection of the integrity of the all departmental financial data.
