Responsibilities

The Senior Managed Care Biller / Collector handles billing and collections, ensuring all information needed for billing, follow-up, and payment is gathered and secured according to payer guidelines, policies, and regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining deficiency lists, resolving claim rejections, packaging claims, performing proactive follow-up with payers, and securing payment until account closure.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience :

• Minimum three years hospital managed care / commercial collector experience.
• Two years recent hospital Medicare billing experience in an automated environment.
• Associates degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Knowledge of contract interpretation.
• Familiarity with hospital billing requirements.
• Knowledge of out-of-state Medicaid billing guidelines.
• Understanding of Medicaid / Medicare billing rules, regulations, and deadlines.
• Experience with various payer types including commercial, governmental, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, etc.
