About the Opportunity
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Full Cycle Accounting: Oversee and support external bookkeepers for certain subsidiary entities during month- and year-end close.
  • Financial Analysis: Contribute to variance analysis, budgeting, and other ad hoc analysis. Assist with reporting and presenting findings to management.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger by recording, classifying, and reconciling transactions. Support finance team members with accurate coding and documentation of entries.
  • Accounts Receivable: Support the AR specialist with complex or multicurrency transactions.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and other financial accounts. Investigate discrepancies and ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Prepare journal entries, accruals, revaluations, and intercompany reconciliations. Compile supporting schedules for audit and tax purposes (e.g., accruals, prepaids, capital assets, PO clearing).
  • Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls. Support GST/VAT filings, tax return reviews, and audit preparation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and systems.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepare special reports and data analysis as requested by the CFO.
About You
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or in progress is an asset.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role. Experience in a small to medium-sized accounting firm is strongly preferred.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of IFRS, full cycle accounting, and tax implications of specific transactions (e.g., meals & entertainment, late fees, unrealized FX).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems (Sage 300 and/or Microsoft Business Central preferred). Familiarity with financial reporting tools or data visualization platforms is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and reconciliations. Ability to identify and correct errors independently.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to draw insights from financial data.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and convey complex financial information in a clear, concise manner.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 /year
