Job description
Overview

At KPMG, you will join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world. We are currently hiring a full-time Senior Manager to join the CRC National Management team to work from India. This role suits a professional with a proven track record of exceptional communication and technical skills in the assurance practice, primarily on compilations. If you are seeking a career challenge and an opportunity to move to India for one to two years, our growing team which supports a diverse group of engagement teams across the globe may be the opportunity for you.

The CRC Senior Manager will assist the enterprise and ECS business units and the CRC Champions network with monthly reporting and budget modelling to manage CRC objectives and related KPIs. A primary role is to provide direct support and guidance to both offshore and onshore teams so that Canadian audit engagement teams can effectively leverage the CRC on their compilations work. The focus will be to support engagement teams on compilations and to formalize processes and policies for risk management and regulatory compliance purposes.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations in collaboration with other members of the CRC national management team.
  • Provide direct support to enterprise and ECS engagement teams so they can effectively leverage the Assurance CRC on their engagements.
  • Assist in overseeing the Quality (QMCI) team at the CRC in India by identifying areas for quality improvement and overseeing the implementation of solutions to ensure the highest audit quality and deliverables.
  • Prepare training materials, how-to guides, monthly/quarterly newsletters, and other guidance documents for the internal CRC portal.
  • Leverage firm processes and programs to ensure active support of the business.
  • Oversee the usage of One Port (the intake portal) and be responsible for updating existing intake processes and creating new processes as necessary and as new services are developed and deployed. Test updated and new processes to ensure they operate as designed.
  • Reporting
  • Provide support to geographic business units to achieve geographic and local office CRC objectives.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for senior audit leadership and business unit leaders, including financial results and strategic commentary on hours results and trends.
  • Compliance - Controls
  • Oversee the performance of the various controls to ensure they operate effectively throughout the year, and that reporting timelines are met.
  • Work with the Department of Professional Practice and the Canadian risk management team to ensure that the services provided by the audit CRC team are approved prior to deployment to ensure high quality.
  • Other
  • Willingness to travel internationally and ability to obtain requisite business traveler visa/work permits for India.
  • Be prepared to start their day earlier or work later than normal office hours to allow for overlap with the offshore management team; this is a critical factor for successful operational oversight.

At times, business needs may require employees to work beyond normal hours. We offer flexibility to accommodate personal matters as well.

What You Bring To The Role

  • Canadian CPA designation or international equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in an enterprise or ECS practice, with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Senior manager or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience with KPMG Canada.
  • Minimum 5 years of compilation and team management experience.
  • Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical assurance skills.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Bi-lingual in French and English is an asset; superior written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Strong ability to oversee operations with more than 100 individuals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; thrives in a team-based environment.
  • Values innovative thinking and looks for ways to improve processes.
  • Demonstrated mentoring and performance management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and areas of responsibility.
  • Attention to detail with aptitude for suggesting alternatives and modifying processes and documents.
  • Comfortable working in both virtual and in-person environments.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office and Adobe products (Excel, PowerPoint, MS Forms, MS Teams, Outlook, etc.).

This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will support KPMG employees nationally and will communicate with English-speaking colleagues, creating documentation and guidance for English-speaking provinces.
