Position Summary:
- Be the internal and external scientific resource, supporting Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) & other Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in understanding complex scientific/clinical concepts and product-related data, leading to higher awareness and understanding of our products or new indications.
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams in the Cardio-Metabolic therapeutic area to ensure strategies and tactics are relevant, appropriate, efficient, and compliant.
- Develop strong relationships with Canadian KOLs, HCPs, researchers, and professional organizations in their therapeutic fields.
- Conduct national KOL mapping and gather medical insights on market, clinical practice, and patient flow.
- Evaluate research proposals, support development and evaluation of preliminary protocols for Investigator Initiated Studies, and supervise their execution.
- Provide scientific and strategic support for ongoing post-marketing studies.
- Support product/disease training for internal stakeholders and conduct scientific presentations related to our products or diseases.
- Collaborate on national initiatives such as educational programs, round tables, and conferences.
- Plan and ensure compliance for national KOL meetings and consultations.
- Develop and execute medical and KOL engagement plans aligned with strategic goals.
- Implement innovative medical strategic and tactical plans with Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).
- Manage the therapeutic area budget, including tactical plans.
- Provide input into medical, marketing, and product positioning strategies.
- Support clinical research programs and oversee publication plans for post-marketing studies.
- Review clinical evidence to support potential acquisitions or licensing opportunities.
- Represent the company at national and international meetings and with external stakeholders.
- Engage with Canadian KOLs alongside MSLs and participate in Medical Leadership Team activities.
- Assist in organizing and planning the annual Medical Affairs Meeting.
Qualifications:
- MD, PhD, or PharmD degree.
- Minimum 5 years in Medical Affairs, with experience in Weight Management (Obesity) and Cardiology preferred.
- Strong leadership, scientific, and strategic skills.
- Excellent networking, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Understanding of compliance and business acumen.
- Resourceful, flexible, and a good team player in cross-functional environments.
