Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our renovation and custom home team. This is a client-facing, design-driven position responsible for guiding homeowners through interior selections, producing accurate design documentation, and supporting the construction team throughout the build process.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of residential renovations, excellent organizational skills, and advanced knowledge of Revit to support design development and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Client Design & Experience
  • Meet with homeowners to understand their lifestyle needs, functional requirements, and design preferences
  • Guide homeowners through thoughtful interior design decisions that support functionality, aesthetics, and longevity
  • Provide professional design recommendations that align with project scope, budget, and construction feasibility
  • Creatively contribute to Pinnacle’s signature “Raving Client Experience” throughout the project lifecycle
Design Development & Documentation
  • Prepare and update interior design drawings, layouts, and details using Revit including plans, elevations, as-built overlays, and supporting documentation
  • Assist in or create design packages for pricing, including Issued for Pricing (IFP) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings
  • Ensure all drawings and specifications are accurate, complete, and construction-ready
  • Track design hours throughout the project and communicate proactively with homeowners and management as required
Selections & Critical Path Management
  • Lead and manage the full interior selection process, including critical-path items such as: Appliances and fireplaces, windows and locations as they relate to cabinetry, cabinet layouts (plan and elevation views, finishes, and edge details), plumbing fixtures and locations, including tubs and sinks
  • Update drawings and documentation as selections are finalized and revised
  • Ensure timely uploads of all selections into Buildertrend, recognizing the importance of accuracy and timing
Project Coordination & Construction Support
  • Work closely with Renovation Consultants, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and trades to support smooth project execution
  • Attend and support pricing meetings, electrical pre-wire and post-wire walkthroughs, granite templating reviews, and other key construction milestones
  • Coordinate with production teams on cabinetry layouts, floor markouts, and ordering timelines
  • Support client presentations and post-contract design coordination through to project completion
Product Knowledge & Standards
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of materials, finishes, products, and residential design trends
  • Support consistent design standards that reflect Pinnacle Group Renovations’ quality expectations
  • Participate in internal meetings and product knowledge sessions
Team Collaboration & Professional Contribution
  • Actively contribute to a positive, collaborative office culture and strong team morale
  • Participate in company meetings, training programs, studio visits, and home tours as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve design processes, workflows, and documentation standards
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and trades
  • Maintain a professional appearance aligned with Pinnacle’s business dress standards and culture
Qualifications
Experience & Education
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design (required)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of residential interior design experience (renovations or custom homes preferred)
Strong proficiency in Revit (required)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SketchUp is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
