Roads Maintenance Summer Student
Job summary
A local government organization in Ontario is seeking a Roads Maintenance Student Labourer for a full-time (40 hr./week) role. The position involves maintaining County roads, performing outdoor maintenance duties, and assisting with traffic control. Candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather, possess a valid Class 'G' Ontario driver's license, and be returning to full-time studies in September 2026. This student position offers hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

- Maintain County roads, including repairing potholes
- Perform maintenance duties including grass cutting, weed whipping and tree trimming
- Assist with traffic control at various sites
- Assist with other tasks and duties, as required
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and be physically able to perform heavy lifting
- Experience with operating a lawn tractor and weed whip is considered an asset
- Mechanical skills and experience with routine maintenance are considered an asset
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license
- Must provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract (Uncertified)
- Must be returning to full-time studies in September 2026
