Day in The Life:
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Lead Hand, Maintenance II and Maintenance I employees with work orders
  • Support the front desk function by ensuring visitors sign in using the system
  • Maintain the presentability of the Civic Centre conference rooms, including all room standards
  • Maintain the Civic Centre foliage on a specified maintenance schedule
  • Provide general housekeeping and maintenance activities, including the Civic Centre plants, mechanical rooms, shipping and receiving area, grounds and washrooms
  • Under the direction of the Lead Hand, using specialized tools, monitor temperature and report as required to on‑duty staff, building automation system, and report any identified deficiencies and/or mechanical issues.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Students currently enrolled in Power Engineering, Building Environmental Systems, Facilities Technician or related field of study will be given preference
  • Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and physically able to perform heavy lifting
  • Mechanical skills and experience with routine maintenance are considered an asset
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license
  • Must provide a Ministry of Transportation Driver Abstract (Uncertified)
  • Must be returning to full‑time studies in September 2026.
