Chef

Position at Jangteo Gukbap located at 5433 Yonge Street North York, ON M2N 5R6. Responsible for preparing Korean cuisine and supervising up to 4 kitchen staff members in a fast‑paced environment.

• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
• Create new recipes.
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.

• Secondary high‑school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years experience in a restaurant kitchen.
• Experience with Korean cuisine or related specialties.
• Knowledge of cold kitchen, fish and seafood, meat, poultry, game, stocks, soups, sauces, vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms.

Salary: $36.00 per hour (30–40 hours per week).
Permanent full‑time employment with evening, weekend shifts.
Starts as soon as possible.
