Job Description

Some of what you will do:

As a Pricing Analyst for Staples, you will provide analytical and strategic support to the Sales, Pricing, and Merchandising teams to empower business leaders to make timely and well-informed pricing decisions. This will be accomplished using pricing and cost to serve modelling, analytics, legal agreement reviews, and working with internal and external parties to obtain the best possible costing. The analyst will work with multiple departments at all levels to present relevant information to senior leadership and ensure pricing activities are implemented to help achieve EBITDA targets.

Specifically, You Will

• Prepare data for sales to present pricing information to customers, including explaining pricing rationale, price levels, pricing levers, and providing supporting documentation as needed.
• Find more efficient methods of pricing and work with the manager to assess their feasibility.
• Adapt quickly to evolving business requirements such as new margin targets, revenue strategies, technologies, and product assortment.
• Identify key risks and opportunities, highlighting them for the sales team and management.
• Collaborate with other teams throughout the customer lifecycle on various pricing activities, including account penetration, inflation recovery, account reviews, margin improvement, ad-hoc reporting, and re-acquisition.
• Assist management outside existing tools in ad-hoc activities for business solutions or planning, including developing user-friendly reports for complex datasets.
• Ensure accuracy of customer-facing documents such as bid pricing submissions, financial offering documents, and responses to legal agreement questions.

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience.
