As a key central agency, the Public Service Commission (PSC) is responsible for leading the development of policies and programs that ensure Alberta has a professional, non-partisan, diverse and inclusive public service that proudly serves Albertans. The PSC is continually enhancing and adapting integrated human resource (HR) services that foster an agile, productive and healthy workforce that serves Alberta today and into the future. This is achieved by providing expert advice, strategic leadership and stewardship as well as developing and delivering innovative supports and services to Alberta Public Service (APS) employees.
The Client Service Delivery Division provides a full suite of strategic and operational human resource (HR) services to department clients, including workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, occupational health and safety, and talent acquisition, human capital management system integration, data management, and HR business processes continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Client Service Delivery, you are accountable for the delivery of client-focused, integrated HR through a service portfolio of client departments. Services include HR advisory, workforce planning, organizational design, employee relations, and occupational health and safety. Collaborating closely with partners across the system, you will advance client-centered, innovative approaches that are responsive and solution-focused to meet evolving department needs. Your ability to establish a foundation of trust, respect, and credibility quickly with your team, colleagues, and clients as well as the quality of your leadership and relationships will be foundational and critical to your success, and consequently, to the success of the APS.
Client departments for Portfolio 1 include Advanced Education, Affordability and Utilities, Children and Family Services, Education and Child Care, Energy and Minerals, Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, Technology and Innovation, Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration, Premier’s and Ministerial Staff, Executive Council, Intergovernmental Relations, Communications and Public Engagement, Assisted Living and Social Services, and Arts, Culture and Status of Women.
An accomplished and agile leader, your background includes extensive related senior management experience in a complex business environment with a wide scope of human resource or public administration programs and services. You have demonstrated expertise in applying a systems-thinking focus to achieve results in operational, strategic and policy arenas, and are recognized for your skill in managing complex and contentious issues, briefing senior officials and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Articulating a compelling vision and the ability to influence change, you have established a leadership record that reflects your commitment to adopting more inclusive systems and processes and fostering a positive work culture. Your strengths in exercising judgment, political acumen, and proactive problem-solving, and decision-making abilities will position you for success. A degree in a related discipline is preferred.
$5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 annually)
