Primary Responsibilities
- Assist flight crews and customers requiring assistance to enplane/deplane.
- Safely and efficiently operate and maintain ground support vehicles and equipment required to service aircraft.
- Perform custodial duties in and around all company-managed facilities, e.g., recycling, garbage, cleaning hangars, and maintaining grounds.
- Marshall, de-ice, and anti-ice aircraft.
- Groom and detail aircraft interiors/exteriors as required.
- Handle baggage and cargo, load, and unload aircraft.
General Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the company's vision, mission, and values.
- Cross-train with customer service attendants, detailers, and cargo agents to provide those duties/coverage when necessary.
- Follow safety responsibilities outlined in the Safety Management System (SMS) manual.
- Perform duties in accordance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations.
Qualifications
Typically, a high school diploma with one to two years' customer service experience. Aviation experience or training is an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Experience serving a diverse customer base.
- Strong judgment and conflict resolution skills with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Willing to work on modified schedules, including early mornings, late nights, and holidays.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and permits, such as Provincial driver's license, RAIC, and AVOP.
- Complete WHMIS and Dangerous Goods Awareness Training.
Equipment Used
- Ground power unit, lavatory cart, tractor tug, forklift, de-icing, and fueling equipment, radio base unit.
Physical and Cognitive Demands
- On-call for evening and weekend shifts; respond to callouts as required.
- Work long and irregular hours under various weather conditions.
- Lift up to 70 pounds and handle luggage and freight.
- Work on elevated platforms and provide ground services to aircraft and equipment.
- Ground and air travel may be required.
