Job Summary

The Home Sharing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Home Sharing Program within the organization, ensuring adherence to CLBC policies, procedures, and standards. This includes recruitment, screening, approval, and oversight of Home Sharing Providers and promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity within all aspects of the Home Sharing department. The Home Sharing Coordinator works closely with supported persons, Home Sharing Providers, support networks, external professionals, and CLBC representatives to achieve contract objectives and positive outcomes for supported persons receiving Home Sharing services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversight and Policy:
    • Provide input into the review of policies and procedures related to Home Sharing coordination regularly, aligning with CLBC policies and standards.
    • Provide input into developing and implementing conflict of interest policies and procedures to address and manage conflicts of interest, ensuring compliance with CLBC guidelines.
    • Promote cultural diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of the Home Sharing program, reflecting Indigenous cultural protocols and values.
  • Contract Compliance Between Service Provider and Home Sharing Provider:
    • Adhere to the established monitoring framework to ensure Home Sharing Providers meet contractual obligations and adhere to CLBC standards and outcomes.
    • Verify and maintain documentation from Home Sharing Providers, including credentials, critical incident reports, and required reporting, in accordance with CLBC contractual requirements and the CLBC Standards for Home Sharing.
    • Clarify and communicate the relationship between Home Sharing Providers and the Service Provider as sub‑contractors, promoting cultural diversity, inclusivity, and Indigenous cultural safety.
  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement Activities:
    • Provide input into the development and revision of measurement tools and activities to assess the quality of Home Sharing services, aligning with CLBC standards and contractual outcomes.
    • Participate in the collection and analysis of data on service experience and satisfaction from supported persons, Home Sharing Providers, and other stakeholders, with a focus on cultural diversity, inclusivity, and Indigenous cultural safety.
    • Participate in the implementation of remediation strategies based on analysis of critical incidents, complaints, and continuous quality improvement objectives, promoting cultural safety and addressing power imbalances within the Home Sharing program.
    • Ensure alignment with and knowledge of all relevant accreditation standards established by CARF, as part of continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Records Management and Maintenance:
    • Adhere to established policies and procedures for the secure and confidential maintenance of individual records, in compliance with applicable laws, CLBC requirements, and cultural protocols, including Indigenous cultural protocols.
    • Ensure timely and accurate documentation, including service delivery‑related information, legal documents, and cultural considerations.
    • Adhere to protocols for the storage and destruction of individual records, both in paper and electronic formats, respecting cultural values, Indigenous protocols, and privacy rights.
  • Complaints, Concerns, and Conflict Resolution:
    • Be familiar with the complaint resolution process and ensure it is accessible to Home Sharing Providers, supported persons, families, and support networks, incorporating cultural diversity, inclusivity, and Indigenous cultural safety.
    • Participate in the annual reviews of formal complaints, analyze trends, and propose actions to prevent future complaints, while promoting cultural safety and addressing power imbalances.
    • Mediate and document any conflicts or incidents that arise between supported persons and Home Sharing Providers, utilizing culturally appropriate conflict resolution approaches and Indigenous cultural safety principles.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology) or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledge of CLBC policies, procedures, standards, and contractual outcomes, with a focus on cultural diversity, inclusivity, and Indigenous cultural protocols.
    • Experience in coordinating and overseeing programs, preferably in a social services setting, with an understanding of cultural diversity, inclusivity, and Indigenous cultural safety.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with supported persons, Home Sharing Providers, support networks, and CLBC representatives from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous communities.
    • Understanding of person‑centered planning and support approaches, incorporating cultural safety, inclusivity, and respect for Indigenous cultural values and protocols.
    • Cultural competence and the ability to apply cultural understanding, knowledge, skills, and abilities in all aspects of the role, including working with Indigenous supported persons and communities.
    • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a culturally diverse environment.
    • Proficiency in documentation and records management, ensuring cultural protocols, Indigenous cultural values, and privacy rights are respected.
    • Strong problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills, utilizing culturally appropriate approaches and promoting cultural safety within the Home Sharing program.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment, including word processing and Outlook email application.
    • Unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality and promoting the agency's vision and mission.

    • Restricted Class 4 driving license.
    • Current First‑Aid and CPR certification.
