Position OverviewThe Uncertified (Untrained) Health Care Aide (UHCA) may work in a variety of settings including community (clients’ homes, assisted/supportive living), health care centers, and hospitals assisting patients/residents/clients with activities of daily living with the goal of supporting independence while providing care and treatment.
The job specification sets out the overall general duties and responsibilities of the UHCA and recognizes that responsibilities may vary dependent on the setting where the UHCA works.
Main Function:
Under the general supervision of the Manager, RN, RPN, and/or LPN, the UHCA works with all members of the health care team including certified Health Care Aides (certified HCAs) assisting with patient/ resident/client care and providing basic supportive care as directed.
The UHCA demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/site/program.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
