(Internal Title: Intermediate Cost Analyst)
The job involves developing, implementing, and maintaining project cost control systems aligned with internal and client requirements. The role manages and maintains the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) integrated with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), tracks and analyzes project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts, and provides accurate and timely cost forecasting, including monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
Key responsibilities include highlighting deviations, cost trends, and performance variances early for proactive decision-making; supporting the development and management of the Project Risk Register; analyzing cost-related risks; performing Monte Carlo simulations and sensitivity analyses; supporting contingency planning; reviewing change orders; interfacing with schedulers; supporting Earned Value Management (EVM); generating detailed reports; facilitating project reviews; validating contractor reports; tracking commitments; and participating in project close-out processes.
Working conditions are hybrid with three days in the office at Cambridge, Ontario.
Requirements include a minimum of 5 years of related experience; a college diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; and preferred certifications such as CCP or PMP. Skills required include knowledge of enterprise cost control platforms, Primavera P6, advanced Excel, Power BI, and experience with MAXIMO and SAP. The role demands strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a disciplined, technology-driven environment.
