Overview

Are you enthusiastic about leading audit and advisory engagements from planning to reporting using advanced data analytics tools to deliver valuable insights? Do you want to enhance audit methodology and processes to drive better outcomes? We are looking for Audit and Analytics Leads who are passionate about elevating the quality, impact, and relevance of internal audit in a rapidly changing business landscape. This is a critical role for someone who excels in data-driven audit approaches while upholding internal audit methodology and relevant standards.

How you'll make a difference: You'll help ensure WorkSafeBC is accomplishing its objectives by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you will work primarily from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

What you'll do
  • Lead, plan, and execute end-to-end risk-based audits and advisory engagements and act as a subject matter expert in the application of data analytics, AI and other emerging technologies across internal audit engagements.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff on leveraging new technologies and best practices to enhance audit methodology and outcomes and ensure the work meets the Global Internal Audit Standards.
  • Communicate complex findings clearly and succinctly in both oral and written form to all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with WorkSafeBC data and innovation teams to integrate advanced analytics and AI into audit processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness, including complete population testing and impactful data visualizations.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the Internal Audit department.
  • Use discretion and tact in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Consistently model the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.

Your background and experience
  • A degree in business, economics, computer science, data science, or a related discipline
  • A Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification, with the anticipation of obtaining another IT-related designation within one year of hiring, such as CISA, CISSP, or CISM
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience within internal audit using data analytics tools, including:
    • Experience in leveraging control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT, ISO, NIST)
    • Experience with cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
    • Exposure to information security concepts from a risk and governance perspective (e.g., network security, data privacy, application security, incident response, vulnerability management)
    • At least 2 years of coaching or mentoring team members
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) would be an asset
  • Working knowledge in data analytics and visualization tools, e.g., SQL, Python, PowerBI, and Tableau

Salary

$99,085.97 - $120,389.46 annually
