Rates & Premiums
  • Will be provided a base hourly rate of $25.00/hour
  • Operators will be eligible to receive premiums starting at $5/hour, when performing winter maintenance operations
Work Conditions
  • Must be located within 30 minutes of the shop due to the location of the work
  • As we respond to various weather patterns, on‑call including night shift will be required
  • This is an on‑call, weather‑dependent position with no guaranteed hours in a week
  • CLAC union position
Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
  • Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year‑round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50lbs on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching etc.
  • Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
  • Provide a copy of a 3‑year commercial driver’s abstract
  • Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
